New Junior Representative Calendar. Basketball Queensland (BQ) is pleased to reveal our new junior representative calendar, set to come into effect for the 2021/22 season. Starting with the Under 18s, the upcoming representative cycle will see a reduced overlap in age groups running simultaneously, with competitions aligned to school terms and Basketball Australia’s Australian Junior Championships (AJC), and no change in the amount of games played.
Junior Representative. The Southern Districts Representative program is one of the strongest and largest programs in Queensland with more than 30 teams in U12, U14, U16, U18 and U21 SQJBC competitions. BQ Junior Rep Returns Basketball Queensland (BQ) is excited to announce the resumption of our Junior Representative competitions for the completion of the 19/20 representative season. As we approach Stage 3 easing of restrictions in Queensland, local competitions across the state are edging closer to a restart post July 10 (pending confirmation from the State Government).
Basketball Queensland have advised of some changes to the Junior Representative Program to commence from the 2021-22 Rep season. Whilst the final details are not yet published, we have decided to deliver our Northside Wizards 2021 Rep Ready development program to align with the proposed changes.

The BQ State Championships are the premier representative basketball competitions available to junior players in Queensland, with the series of tournaments taking place from January to July each year. Entry nominations are open to all BQ affiliated associations who have competed in the SQJBC, CQJBC or NQJBC competitions.

The competition caters for Under 12 to Under 21 age groups in both boys and girls. SQJBC provides a competition pathway for elite junior players representing their associations, with Basketball Queensland’s affiliated associations in the south-east Queensland region eligible to enter.
All players must be registered with Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland to be eligible to participate in the 2021 GCJBL competition. The registration period for each product last for 365 days. Players aged 10 years and older. Basketball Queensland Registration Fee $66.40. Gold Coast Basketball Registration Fee $63.60
